As previously reported, in a recent consultation with INMETRO and Siscomex, we received information that as of July 16, imports of the following products will be exempted from administrative processing license:
NCM 8714.91.00 - emphasis 001: frames and forks used on bicycles;
NCM 8714.92.00 - emphasis 001: used on bicycles;
NCM 8714.94.90 - emphasis 001: set of brakes used on bicycles;
NCM 8714.94.90 - emphasis 002: chordae used on bicycles;
NCM 8714.96.00 - emphasis 001: pedals and chainsets used on bicycles;
NCM 8714.99.90 - emphasis 001: handlebars used on bicycles;
NCM 8714.99.90 - emphasis 002: support for handlebars used on bicycles;
NCM 8714.99.90 - emphasis 003: niples used on bicycles.
The change is a result of negotiations that Aliança Bike and other organizations representing the bicycle industry has been doing with Inmetro, for the term of mandatory certification to be extended.
After public consultation, a new supplement to Administrative Rule 656/2012 will be issued. Thus, to date, mandatory accreditation was extended for 6 months.
